The Refractories division forms the core business of RHI. Under the RHI brand, the group deals with the production, sale and lining of non-substitutable refractory products, which are indispensable for all industrial high-temperature processes.

With 7,000 employees, this division generates annual sales revenues of EURO 1.3 billion and produces 1.7 million tons of refractory materials at 30 locations on four continents. The key customers for the products, systems and services are the iron & steel, cement, lime, glass, nonferrous metals, environment, energy and chemical industries. Furthermore the customers within the specific fields of specialty ceramics, kiln furniture and raw materials are served by RHI.

The RHI brand comprises a large number of brands established in the market (VEITSCHER, DIDIER, RADEX, REFEL, Dolomite Franchi, INTERSTOP) which combine tradition with innovative technology and highest quality standards.

The position of RHI as global technology leader is based on decades of successful research and development activities, which are focused at the Technology Center in Leoben, Austria. A competent team of more than 200 international experts works on product innovations and developments in close contact with renowned research institutes, universities and important key customers and supports the sales and marketing departments within its wide range of functions (quality management, logistics, purchasing, raw materials).
